Privacy policy

We built AdaPDF around a simple idea: working with your documents shouldn’t mean handing them over.

Local browser tools

Tools marked as local, including Merge PDF, Compress PDF and Edit PDF, process selected documents in your browser. Those workflows do not upload document contents or filenames for processing. You download their results directly from your browser. Choosing a file on the homepage does not upload it.

HTML files and code

HTML to PDF converts an HTML file or code you paste in your browser. The source is not uploaded for conversion. Use self-contained HTML: external resources and scripts are excluded. To save a live webpage, open it in your browser and use Print / Save as PDF.

Camera access

Scan to PDF asks for camera permission only after you choose Open camera. Frames are captured and processed on your device. Close camera, Start over, or close the tab to release the camera. Audio is never requested.

What still uses the internet

Your browser downloads the website, fonts, conversion software and OCR language models from our domain. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, receives the normal information needed to serve those requests, such as your IP address, requested URL, browser information, and request time. Infrastructure security and operational records are governed by Cloudflare’s policies. Files used only in local browser tools are not part of these website resource requests.

Website analytics

We use Google Analytics across the website to understand page visits and how the site is used. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information about website visits, such as page addresses and browser and device information. We also count tool starts, generated results, download clicks and file-size rejections using fixed event labels. We do not send your selected files, filenames, document contents, OCR text, or webpage addresses entered into our conversion tools to Google Analytics. We also use Plausible Analytics, served from stats.aceailabs.com, to understand page visits, navigation, link clicks and downloads. Plausible does not use cookies. This is separate from Google Analytics, which uses cookies as described above. We do not send your selected files, filenames, document contents, OCR text or webpage addresses entered into our conversion tools to Plausible.

After you finish

Use “Start over” to remove selected files and generated download links from this page, or close the tab. Your original files and files you downloaded remain on your device. Your browser may cache website resources; AdaPDF does not intentionally persist your document contents in browser storage. Scanner page-size and OCR language preferences may be saved locally; these contain no document content.

For help, feedback, or privacy questions, email support@AdaPDF.net. If you contact us, your email address and anything you include in your message are received through email so we can respond. This is separate from local document processing. Please describe the issue without attaching sensitive documents.

Shared devices

Remember to manage downloaded files and browser download history when using a shared computer. Browser extensions and device software operate outside AdaPDF’s control.
