Check a signature before you remove it
When you need an unsigned working copy of a document you are allowed to edit, check the PDF first. This tool shows signature fields and signatures added with AdaPDF, then lets you choose the items to remove.
Check first because a visible signature can be a separate field, an ordinary drawing, or part of a scanned picture. AdaPDF can remove supported separate items. It cannot safely guess which handwritten mark or image on a page should disappear.
Your original document stays unchanged and the other page content is kept. If a signature field appears in more than one place, removing it clears every appearance. This is document editing, not secure redaction or signature verification; keep the original signed version.

How to use Remove Signature
- Open the unlocked PDF you have permission to edit.
- Read the detected signature list. Use View page to inspect each item and check only the signatures or fields you want to remove.
- Choose Remove selected signatures, then download the edited PDF. A field shared across pages is removed everywhere.
- Review the new copy and retain the original signed document. If no removable signatures are found, return to the source document or obtain an unsigned original.

How do I remove a signature from my PDF?
Open your PDF and select a signature shown in the list, then save and download the edited copy. It removes only supported signatures that are separate from the page.
Why is my signature not detected?
It may be merged into the page, part of a scan, or an ordinary drawing or stamp. To avoid deleting unrelated content, the tool does not guess which mark is a signature. Use the unsigned original or edit the source document.
Can I remove a digital signature field from a PDF?
The tool can find supported signature fields. Selecting one removes that signature from the copy wherever it appears. It does not verify the signer or bypass a password, and existing certificate signatures become invalid after editing.
Will other form fields, notes or signatures be removed?
Only the signatures you select are removed. Other fields, notes, highlights, and stamps stay in place. A selected signature that appears on several pages is removed everywhere, so always review the downloaded copy.
Does removing a signature erase its data securely?
No. This removes a visible supported signature from the new copy. Use a dedicated redaction process when you need to securely remove confidential information.
Can I remove a signature without uploading the PDF?
Yes. Checking and removal happen in your browser, with no account required. Use an unlocked PDF up to 50 MB and 100 pages; the original file is not overwritten.
