Recover what remains in a damaged PDF

Repair cannot recreate information already missing from the file. If a normal copy cannot be recovered, an optional image-only copy may preserve readable pages. That option loses searchable text, links, editable forms and signature functionality; unreadable pages may be skipped and are listed in the report.

Frequently asked questions
Will repair recover every missing page?
No. Missing page content cannot be recreated. Even a copy that opens may be incomplete, especially when page references were lost. Check the page count and content, and ask the sender for a fresh file when possible.
What does a readable copy mean?
It means the recovered pages opened and rendered during the check. It does not prove that every original page, attachment, form field or hidden item survived.
Does PDF repair remove passwords?
No. Unlock an encrypted PDF with a password you know before trying recovery. Repair does not recover forgotten passwords.
Will a digital signature remain valid?
Rewriting a PDF can invalidate its signature. Retain the original signed document and obtain a fresh signed copy when signature validity matters.
Is my document uploaded?
No. Recovery runs locally in this browser. You can download a report describing the outcome and any pages that could not be recovered.
