AdaPDF Chrome Extension Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 4, 2026
This policy covers AdaPDF — PDF Quick Tools, the Chrome extension provided by AdaPDF. The extension helps you preview a PDF, copy a page’s existing text, save a page as an image and find related PDF tools. It does not require an account.
Your PDFs and opening passwords
The extension reads a PDF only when you select or drop a file, or choose its bundled fictional sample. Your selected PDF, file name, page information, opening password, previews, extracted text and generated images are handled locally on your device. The extension does not upload these items to AdaPDF or send them to analytics or third parties.
An opening password is used only to open the selected PDF. It is not saved in extension storage. The extension does not keep a document library or save document contents between sessions. Closing the file or the workspace releases the current document and generated download links; choosing another file replaces the current workspace.
When you choose Copy text, the selected text is copied to your system clipboard. When you download an image, Chrome saves a file on your device. Your original files, downloaded files, clipboard contents and any clipboard history are controlled by you, your browser and your device. Closing the extension does not delete these copies.
Saved and recently opened tools
Chrome’s local extension storage keeps the tool types you save and up to ten recently opened tool types. For example, it may remember that you saved Merge PDF or opened Compress PDF. These preferences contain tool identifiers, not file names, document contents, passwords, website browsing history or personal profiles. They are not synced by this extension to an AdaPDF account or server.
Use the star beside a tool to remove it from your saved list. In the Saved tab, open Recently opened tools and choose Clear recent to delete the recent list. Uninstalling the extension removes its local preferences.
When you open a website
Website tools open only when you choose a website link. Links to AdaPDF include fixed source tags identifying the extension and its entry point, such as the tool directory or an image result. These tags do not include your file name, PDF contents, opening password or a private source address. Your selected PDF is not transferred automatically; choose the file again on the website to continue.
Related links also open DiffChecker.online for text comparison, PNGConverter.online for image conversion, RemoveBG.Studio for photo cutouts, InvoiceTemplate.app for invoice templates, AdaFileConvert.com to turn a supported image into a PDF, and Unziper.net to extract a PDF from an archive. These links use the sites’ public home addresses, without query parameters, and do not pass your files, copied text, passwords or preferences. Copy text or download an image first, then choose what to paste or select on the destination site. These sites have their own privacy policies and may handle information you provide there. Review the destination site’s policy before using it.
Visiting a website is separate from using the extension. The AdaPDF website uses Google Analytics for website visits, and its hosting provider receives normal request information such as an IP address, requested page, browser information and request time. AdaPDF’s website privacy policy explains these practices. The extension itself has no analytics, advertising or document-upload requests. Its PDF processing software, fonts and sample are bundled with it.
Chrome and the Chrome Web Store may process information when you install or update an extension under Google’s own policies. This extension does not control those browser or store services.
Why the extension needs its permissions
Side panel access lets the toolbar button open your PDF workspace. Storage access saves only the tool preferences described above. The extension does not request access to website contents, browser history, cookies or all your downloads.
How information is used and shared
The extension uses the information you select only to provide its visible PDF features and tool preferences. We do not receive your locally processed document information through the extension. We do not sell it, use it for advertising or profiling, or share it with third parties. AdaPDF’s use of information through this extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Support and privacy questions
If you email support, we receive your email address and the information you include so we can respond. This is separate from local document processing. Please describe the issue without attaching sensitive documents. To ask about information you have sent by email, contact the support address below.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when the extension’s information handling changes. The date above identifies the latest substantive policy update.
