Editable page layout places supported text, pictures, lines, rectangles and ruled tables into separate Word objects. It is useful when you need to change a heading or picture while keeping the page arrangement close to the PDF. Open the DOCX in Word and check spacing, table cells and object positions.
Flowing text is easier for rewriting a report or letter. It extracts paragraphs instead of preserving page artwork. Neither mode recreates the original authoring file perfectly. Font substitutions can change spacing, and complex curved artwork, clipped objects and transparency may require the original application.
A scan contains pictures rather than editable words. In flowing-text mode, choose automatic OCR for scanned pages or recognize all selected pages, then proofread names and numbers. OCR PDF is also available when you need a searchable PDF first. For a document you only need to present, PDF to PowerPoint offers page images.
Best for: Editing supported text and page objects, or reusing paragraphs from a PDF that already contains selectable words.

Can I edit the converted Word document?

Will the Word file match the PDF exactly?
No exact match is guaranteed. Available fonts, Word versions and complex artwork can affect spacing and appearance. Review the converted file and use the original authoring document when available.
Are merged table cells preserved?
Supported ruled tables can become Word tables with merged cells. Borderless or irregular tables may remain separate text boxes. For spreadsheet data, use PDF to Excel and review the cells before exporting.
Can I convert only some PDF pages?
Yes. Enter page positions such as 1-3, 8. Leave the field empty for all pages. Both output styles use your selected pages.
