Use learning material created or reviewed by ASL users and qualified educators. ASL has its own grammar and visual-spatial structure, so a list of English words beside pictures is not a complete language lesson. Look for resources that identify their authorship, audience, and teaching context.

The National Association of the Deaf describes ASL as a complete, natural language expressed through hand and facial movements. Treat that distinction as a reason to use a PDF for organizing learning materials, not as evidence that a PDF editor can translate or teach the language.

Make a printable ASL study packet

If you have permission to use the materials, combine the handouts with Merge PDF. Put the cover and lesson files in the intended order before creating the packet.
